The Bristol Cycle Festival is back!

Bristol Cycle Festival is back for 2017 with 9 whole days of bike themed events organised by the cyclists of Bristol, for the cyclists of Bristol, from Saturday 16th – Sunday 24th September!

The exciting array of 50+ events and activities across Bristol includes the much loved Carnivelo – the UK’s only cycle carnival. This year’s theme is ‘Monstrous Creatures & Mythical Beasts’, so get your glad rags on, give your bike a monstrous makeover and join in the fun as we pedal out en masse to prowl the portway. The Bristol Bike Project crew will be there with whatever weird and wonderful bikes we can get our hands on – expect tall bikes, soundsystem bikes, freak bikes… We’ll be hard to miss so come and say hi!

We’re also hosting a number of events and activities at The Bristol Bike Project. Here’s a few of the highlights…

On Saturday 16 September we’ll be running a Dr Bike offering free bike safety checks as part of Bristol’s European City of Sport Taster Session event at Millennium Square from 12:oo – 3:00pm. Come and give your bike some TLC!

On Tuesday 19 September, we’re hosting a talk about creating social impact through bikes, here at the Project from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. We’ll be joined by other inspiring organisations doing great things with bikes across Bristol, including Food Cycle, One Good Turn, and Ride On, Ride Out, to talk about how bikes can be a vehicle for social change. Space is limited and on a first come first served basis so be sure to arrive early if you want a spot!

And on Friday 22 September, we’re having a film night at the Project, screening the awesome ‘Ovarian Psycos’ about a new generation of fierce, unapologetic and feminist women of color from the Eastside of Los Angeles who confront injustice, build community, and redefine identity through a raucous, irreverently named bicycle crew: The Ovarian Psycos Cycle Brigade.
